Capacity and who it suits
1.2 litres is several days of drinking for one cat and comfortably a couple of days for two, so this is a fountain you top up rather than refill daily. It suits an indoor cat on dry food, which is the cat most at risk of running short, since dry food is only about a tenth water and nearly all the rest has to be drunk. It also suits the cat that has always preferred the tap, the shower tray or the watering can, because that preference is exactly what a fountain is built around.
