Sizing and fit
About 4.5 inches is the useful height for most adult cats. It brings the bowl up far enough that the neck stays roughly level while eating, without lifting it so high that a cat has to reach. The wide shallow shape is doing a second job: whiskers are sensory equipment rather than decoration, and pressing them against the sides of a deep narrow bowl is genuinely unpleasant. A cat that eats with its head turned sideways, or paws food onto the floor first, is usually telling you the bowl is the problem.
The 15 degree tilt means the cat can finish what is in the bowl without burying its face to reach the last of it.
Materials and care
Stainless steel throughout, which matters more than it sounds. Plastic bowls scratch, and scratches are where the film and the smell live, which is one reason a cat will start refusing a bowl it used happily for a year. Steel does not hold odour the same way. The bowl lifts clear of the stand and goes in the dishwasher, and the stand itself only needs a wipe.
Who it suits
Older cats and any cat with stiffness in the neck or shoulders get the most from it, because the bending is the part that hurts. It also suits flat faced breeds, cats that eat too fast, and the cat that has always made a mess around the bowl. If you have more than one cat, bear in mind that feeding stations are worth separating rather than lining up, since cats guard resources quietly.
Questions
Can it be used for water? Yes, and the same whisker argument applies. Many cats drink better from a wide shallow dish than a deep one.
Will it tip if my cat pushes it? The chassis is deliberately broad for that reason. A cat leaning on the rim should not lift the far side.
Is one bowl enough for two cats? Better to have one each, in different places. Cats negotiate over food more than most owners notice.
